There has never been a player in my lifetime that was so fucking good at a thing (shooting) that we ended up changing how we view the game entirely. What they taught when I was playing high school ball is completely different then how they teach it now and that’s because of Steph. That alone has to count for a lot.

In regular 1s and 2s pickup it's even more impactful. Having a 3 worth twice the amount as 2 is just a back-breaker in pickup.

Can’t tell you how many times I’ve tried explaining that to my friends. You need to shoot 3s in pick up games. I mean, it’s not like anyone has a problem with chucking 35 footers anyway smfh.

It's because people underestimated how impactful a 3-pt shot is, it's arguably the most important shot in basketball right now. It's almost an insult when people say "oh he's just a GOAT shooter" as if shooting is just a so-so niche in the world of basketball.

Steph changed the beliefs around 3pt shooting at the perfect time where math(common sense, really) finally really took hold and changed the way that teams make decisions.

It's really the perfect storm of a generational talent combined with a new wave of thinking.

I don't think Top 10 is out of the question if he ages well. Sucks he was injured so much early in his career and had to wait awhile to get a good coach.

Definitely. Anyone who thinks he won't be top 15/20 is absurd.

3x Champ, 2x MVP, 5x All-Star, 5x All-NBA, 50-40-90, and greatest shooter ever. He will also get more championship rings and most likely a FMVP or two.

He will probably end up as the 2nd greatest PG of all time, behind only Magic.

Honestly not sure why you got downvoted. As a lifelong Jazz fan I love me some Stockton but honestly Curry is clearly ahead at this point both in skill and hardware attained. Also, if the average user on this sub has Curry top 15 all-time, how could he be anything BUT number 2 PG to Magic? If guys have Stockton or Robertson or whoever higher than that I'm honestly surprised.

While Curry is a much better scorer and shooter. You cannot deny that Stockton is a much better passer(not flashier) and miles ahead Defensively. He is #1 in assists and steals(2nd place for steals is Jason Kidd and he is about 800 steals behind)! You guys are forgetting how great Stockton was.

Curry will never sniff the kind of assist volume as Stockton. He’s on a team where he’s more likely to get a hockey assist due to ball movement and initially drawing coverage to himself. As amazing as Stockton was I think in the end Curry’s achievements will top his longevity. Plus the dude broke the game.

Easily top 15 is stretching it. He might be too 15 but there are so many legends competing for top 15 that it will never be easy unless you’re like Kobe/Duncan/Shaq Level at the minimum

Top 15 is more jerry west, karl malone, kg, oscar robertson tier. It's not a stretch for curry to be in that spot.

Isn't it usually 12 where it stops being pretty universal:

In no order (MJ, KAJ, LBJ, Magic, Bird, Russell, Wilt, Shaq, Kobe, Duncan, Hakeem).

So yeah seems like it would be back end of top 15 doesn't seem to be that huge of a stretch.
