It's not offense that makes people say Tatum > Kuzma, it's both sides of the floor. Kuzma is the better offensive threat, but it's comparable. I think Kuzma is easily the player who will go off for 50 points one day, whereas Tatum probably won't go off for 35 that often (personal opinion). But Tatum is already an elite great wing defender, and Kuzma is a negative asset on D.

Define “outshooting”. Tatum shoots far better from 3 and from the line. Also, “out-assisting” is the difference between 1.9 and 2.4. Tatum is out-rebounding kuzma by .7, but that apparently isn’t as relevant as the .5 difference in assists?
I love kuzma, but this isn’t really all that fair, it also doesn’t even mention the massive disparity in defense.

A lot of Laker fans echo the same thing. I do think Tatum is overrated, but he's still a better asset than Kuzma. He's a better all-around player, but Tatum hasn't shown an ability to be a star player (IMO Kuzma hasn't either. He can be an all-star, but the weight of his gravity is not star-level).
I'd take Tatum over Kuzma right now, but not by a wide margin.

Word, I feel like most Lakers fans would agree that Tatum is the better player, but there are people on here saying that the Pels should take Tatum over the entire Lakers young core. Like wtf?
Also, Lonzo + Kuz > Tatum + Jaylen imo. Lonzo is a very good defender and a pretty great floor general. People don't realize how good he was last year when he had a very consistent starting role.
