Literally everybody does that against Giannis, that’s a no brainer. They do it with little success though. Once he gets his momentum, it is very difficult to stop him. You have to be really quick, tall, and have the size. Ayton has those abilities when he focuses.

Ayton is insanely quick laterally for his size. It's one of his huge advantages that he's able to switch onto the perimeter.

That being said, Giannis with a solid 3 points shot is probably the most dominant player we've ever seen in my opinion. I'm very happy he's in the East if he ever learns to shoot well.

Pascal can’t stop him, but then again no one defender can, it has to be a team. Pascal is about as good of a matchup as there is in the league though I think. He has similar length to Giannis and he’s crafty with his hands. He’s also quick enough to stay in front and draw a charge or two. Giannis would still probably get 30 on him, but his efficiency would take a hit and he’d have to work hard for it.

Harden thicc and smart. Skinny folk don't do well against Giannis without help if they're under 7'. He's just too strong and you can't keep him out of the paint, just look at when Simmons guarded him last night... bully ball at that point.

Harden got a real strong base, I think he's undervalued as one of the strongest guys in the league.

Sometimes when an offensive player is that strong and you try to foul them it doesn’t even look like a foul because of the difference in size/strength. This used to be a thing with Shaq, dudes would literally jump on his to bring attention to their attempts to foul him.

So I get why you hate the hug foul but in some unique situations it’s the only way.

Other coaches decided to copy it, except they don't have a DPOY player in Gobert. And by the second time the Bucks got Gobert, Giannis has adjusted so much he actually played Gobert off the floor and scored like 44 points.
